First-Year Curriculum
At the heart of SIG is our robust, semester-long dual curriculum model. Within our finance curriculum, fellows and new analysts will learn financial valuation, M&A, etc. In sustainability workshops, you will learn about environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles and their applications across various industries. By semester’s end, members will be able to evaluate companies using financial and ESG metrics.
Sustainability At A Glance
At SIG, sustainability is both a personal practice and a professional skill.
Upon completion of the curriculum, it is our hope that fellows learn how to think about sustainability, not just what it is. Blending the rigor of the ISSP SEA Certification with the reflective depth of the AFS Intercultural Programs + UPenn Center for Social Impact Strategy (CSII) Changemaker curriculum, fellows start by looking inward and build outward into the technical frameworks used by ESG professionals at every stage of a stock pitch. By Week 10, every fellow has a sustainability identity, a working toolkit of frameworks and principles as well as an understanding of contemporary global issues, a completed engagement project, and a stronger career narrative. Some topics covered by the sustainability curriculum include:
