First-Year Curriculum
At the heart of SIG is our robust, semester-long dual curriculum model. Within our finance curriculum, fellows and new analysts will learn financial valuation, M&A, etc. In sustainability workshops, you will learn about environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles and their applications across various industries. By semester’s end, members will be able to evaluate companies using financial and ESG metrics.
Sustainability At A Glance
At SIG, sustainability is both a personal practice and a professional skill.
Upon completion of the curriculum, it is our hope that fellows learn how to think about sustainability, not just what it is. Fellows start by looking inward and build outward into the technical frameworks used by ESG professionals at every stage of a stock pitch. Drawing inspiration from the ISSP SEA Certification, as well as UPenn’s Center for Social Impact Strategy (CSIS) global citizenship and social innovation training, the SIG Sustainability curriculum prepares every fellow to develop a sustainability identity. By the end of the 10 weeks, fellows and analysts will have a working toolkit of frameworks and principles as well as an understanding of contemporary global issues, a completed engagement project, and a stronger career narrative.
